Posted February 12, 2011. I have for sale a KMG belt grinder. It takes 72" belts and has the platen, steel base, 1 1/2 hp motor with on off switch, small wheel attachment, and two adjustable speed pulleys. This machine was used by me in my mobile sharpening truck. I cannot imagine that I used it more than ten minutes a week for maybe 6 or 7 months.

If I leave a belt on my KMG with the tension applied, it can stretch unevenly and start to wobble a bit. BUT, it's so darned easy to take the tension off (just a 1/4 twist of a lever) I've learned not to do that.

2,427. Feb 7, 2018. #1. I've been having issues with the tracking of my KMG for a while now. It was getting incredibly difficult to maintain focus while my belt shifted to one side or the other. Grinding a knife became so annoying that I finally decided to put my KMG up for sale. I was willing to take a hit and be done with the thing.

Mike, I haven't built a grinder in a lot of years now. I bought a burr king over a decade ago and that's that. I do have other belt grinders but seldom ever use anything else. My Blade Master grinder is now a surface grinder. If I made one today, I doubt it would look as good as yours.
