Computational modelling is a key tool that can be applied to optimise the processing of coal through the entire cycle from mine to end user. We present results of a set of numerical simulations using the Discrete Element Method (DEM), which we couple to an energy based dust liberation model capable of simulating dust generation during coal processing and transportation.
