AFAIK, it is the same BOV on the Evo 9. Those of us who have tuned 9s have run the stock BOV with up to 28 psi w/o an leak issues. I tuned an Evo 9 on E85 and ran peak boost to 28.5 psi and held the boost to 25.5 psi by 6000 rpm w/o any leaks. I did not notice any leaks.

That BOV shouldn't be hooked up to the intake at all. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but you need a pipe that comes off of the lower intercooler pipe that hooks up to the BOV. HKS makes one just for the Evo X. The kit has a metal stopper/plug that goes in the intake pipe if you are going VTA. Like.

The evo recirrculates back into the intake so if you were going to replace your bov my suggestion would be a JDM MR bov. I have an evo8 so I'm not sure when the stock bov on the ix starts leaking so you might want to check on that. 5. Re-tune either afc or reflash. He has a IX, which comes with the JDM MR DV already.

BOV open at idle. I purchased a tial Q bov And the 10 PSI Spring is too stiff. I now have the six PSI Spring. Under acceleration it holds boost and when i come off the gas it dumps immediately. But at idle the blow off valve is wide open. I added washers to the six PSI Spring and that caused surge when ever The throttle plates closed.

So i thought I'd leak test the stock bov/bpv. you'll have to turn the volume up for the video. :08 pressure crosses 25psi and you can begin to hear it leak. :15 pressure gets to 28psi and leak becomes very audible. :18 pressure increased to 30psi and it leaks really bad.

The mitsu metal BOV's are kind of all over the place on how much boost they can hold. Some hold 26psi fine, some open at 24psi, etc etc. On good octane and higher boost I have personally seen 40whp/40wtq gains as the highest so far after "crushing" the OEM bov.
